After School Meals

The Office of SchoolFood provides food service to after-school programs when requested by a principal or CBO. Every child who participates in an afterschool program is provided a snack or supper, upon request. CBOs need to apply for after school meals link. New applications are open mid to late August.

Important notes:

  • CBOs must have a current unexpired SACC license to apply for snacks/meals which will be uploaded with the application process.
  • In order to submit an application for hot meals, the program must have a minimum of 75 students.
  • CBOs that don’t have a username will need to take a survey about their program.

To place a new snack order:

  • The CBO Site Coordinator or a designee must enter the application for after-school meals online.
  • If your school does not appear in the drop-down menu, please contact Special Programs at (718) 707-4320.

Breakfast in the Classroom

Schools offering this program deliver breakfast to students’ classrooms, or provide a bagged breakfast that they can bring to class. Having a healthy breakfast helps students think and perform better in class. This program is only available to certain schools. Please speak to your school’s administration to find out if they offer breakfast in the classroom.

Saturday and Holiday Meals

If a school hosts an activity on a Saturday or holiday, students are eligible to receive a morning snack and/or lunch, depending on the time and length of the activity. Speak to your school administration to see which services are available.
